The weekend was attended by a total of 17 participants, among whom there were under-graduate and graduate students along with post-graduate students. The trainees had mostly economic background and some of the participants were from the University of Medicine.
Participants were advised by trainers and had the opportunity to discuss issues related to the viability of their ideas with the special guests of the event: businessmen, representatives of banks, specialists in marketing, tourism, etc. At the end of this 3-day event, the students presented their ideas in front of a jury formed by entrepreneurs, managers and financial specialists.
The Startup Weekend was successful regarding the ideas developed during the three day period. The team being granted the first price is going to be supported by one of UPM’s graduate, an entrepreneur in the area of tourism. This business idea succeeded to get to the national level of competition Junior Achievement Romania.
